2020 is a year we will all remember. Events of late winter threw us into somewhat lasting uncertainty. For the wedding industry, however, it was the season that was just getting back on track …. In January 2020, S. contacted me to be with her and J. for their provencal wedding in June. My season was already busy, so I was no longer available for them. During confinement, the two lovers contacted me again to find out if I was available again. My entire season had just been canceled … And these two had a firm belief that they could marry in their family house after confinement, and they were right to believe it. A few weeks later, I found them in the house that J. had entirely built with his hands with his two brothers in the middle of the Haut Var scrubland, in Barjols between Aix en Provence and the Verdon.
J + S dreamed of natural, bohemian, delicate and homemade wedding ; They thought about their vintage decoration for months and buy antiques in flea market as tables, chairs, plates, cutlery … J. took care of decorating the place on D-Day with dried flowers. He mad the bouquet of his beautiful girl. It was again S. who imagined her dress and had it made by a seamstress. It will also be the two mothers of the bride and groom who will make the delicious Pesto soup for the meal, in addition to the wonders from the Citron Pavot caterer. You will understand: infinite crush on these two. Two rays of sun, of a kindness and a rare softness. Their whole day was spent in the garden of the Bastidon except for the civil ceremony at the Town Hall of Saint Maximin la Sainte Baume. It was the best idea for a wedding with meaning and without the constraints of context. We also made a little getaway in the olive groves for photos at the “Golden Hour” !
I will keep all my life the memory of this parenthesis of happiness and love in this incredible environment. For weeks, we had not been able to travel: so I fell in love with this region tenfold which never ceases to amaze me. One day it is sure, I will come and live even closer.
