C. and M. are one of those couples who seem to have created a language of their own. Both deeply sensitive to art, travel, literature and the beautiful things in everyday life, they share a world that is joyful, unique and entirely their own. C. wrote her Art History thesis on women artists, and has a particularly strong connection to colour. So for their wedding in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, it felt only natural that she would create a setting that reflected them: floral, abundant and intensely colourful. Orange, pink, yellow, flowers from the family garden, hand-painted motifs (C. painted all the wedding stationery herself) — every detail told a little piece of their story and their sensibility.

They live in London, but for their wedding on the French Riviera, they imagined a little escape from reality, inspired by colourful 1960s and 1970s weddings and the sun-drenched atmosphere of the Mediterranean. And even though the weather that day felt very London-like, nothing could dampen their joy. Quite the opposite: the rain, flowers, colours and bursts of laughter came together to create a day that was full of life, deeply personal and completely true to them. From the family home and its garden to the church, and then down to Passable Beach, their wedding felt a little wild and wonderfully poetic. A world of their own, built around their families, friends, references, objects and passions. A world I absolutely loved photographing.
