MOTHERHOOD
Motherhood photographer in Nice — a documentary approach to motherhood: pregnancy, birth, and the early days with your baby

Stories of women. Of mothers. Of parents. Of families.

I’m a photographer specialising in documentary work around motherhood, capturing pregnancy, birth, and family life in Nice, Paris, Berlin, and wherever your story takes me.

YOUR OdyssEY.
Motherhood is a life-changing journey.
A deep shift , for a woman, for a couple.
This is the Big Odyssey. Your Odyssey, the one I tell through honest, meaningful images.
Because before pregnancy which often marks, in people’s eyes, the beginning of parenthood, there is conception.
For some, having a baby just happens. Effortlessly.
For others, it’s a longer road: fertility treatments, loss, doubts, questions…
All the things that often stay unspoken.
Hidden. And that you often share with me.

Pregnancy, a quiet miracle
When life begins to grow within you, it feels like a small miracle. Two hearts beating in one body.
It is powerful, mysterious, and deeply moving.
Year after year, I remain in awe of the strength of the female body, something that can feel ordinary to society and yet entirely unique to the person experiencing it.
Pregnancy can be joyful, radiant, and powerful. It can also be uncertain, filled with fear. Sometimes it is both at once.
This duality, this ambivalence, is what I seek to hold in my images.

Birth and the early days
Birth is the day everything changes. Sometimes it is love at first sight. Sometimes it takes time. The first days feel like a soft and fragile bubble. Then slowly, a new balance begins to take shape.
There is the wonder of first times, the learning of becoming parents.
Love that feels as though it has always been there, alongside exhaustion, doubts, outside judgments, and the incredible resilience of both body and mind. Always, that same ambivalence.

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY. DOCUMENTING YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE
Family photographs tell stories of a time, of relationships, of intimacy. They speak of love, of gestures, of the spaces you inhabit and hold dear. When I come into your home, my intention is simple, to capture what truly defines you.
Your rhythm.
Your habits.
Your gestures.
Your way of being together. Not perfection, but truth.
A celebration of changing life. This maternal odyssey. This family adventure. An ode to transformation.

Through my images, I tell…
Chaos, Wonder, Fragility, Vulnerability, Strength, and Transformation.
My vision of motherhood photography
Documentary and aesthetic
I observe and document your life as it is.
There is no staging. Only you, living your everyday life. Cooking, drawing, reading, playing, cuddling, and even the things you enjoy less, like laundry or dishes. Real life.
I do not hide what is there, changing bodies, fatigue, mess, and mixed emotions.
I tell the story of your connection. The beauty of life as it is.

From simplicity to bold and colorful
Clean images, yet full of life.
A way of working mainly with natural light, sometimes with flash, with colours, with textures, with everything that makes your world unique.
I like to understand who you are, your style, your tastes, in order to reflect them in images.
I personally love colour and richness, but I let myself be carried by your worlds, each one different from the other. I love messy spaces just as much as interiors where everything is perfectly in place.
Poetry
Poetry lives within your everyday life.
A changing light, a shadow, a skin, a meaningful detail.
I simply translate it with sensitivity.
It is what guides me, what nourishes me.
It is how I see life, through my camera.

The feminine
My approach is rooted in a reflection on the feminine. I photograph bodies in transformation, a passage in life, strengths and fragilities. I advocate for a more accurate and diverse representation of motherhood. I want to represent all bodies.
My gaze is intended to be inclusive, attentive, and deeply human. At the same time, I care about maintaining a sense of aesthetic in my images, so that you can see yourself as beautiful as I see you.

Intimacy and sensitivity
I care deeply about creating a space of trust to photograph moments of your life that are both personal, joyful, and fragile.
My pregnancy photography focuses on showing the strength of your body. I like images without clothing, to reveal as truthfully as possible the body that carries life. I like to welcome the vulnerability of your first weeks with your baby, your questions, your fragilities, and your strengths.
A thoughtful approach
My personal work, at the intersection of sociology and photography, questions the norms and dominant representations of motherhood.
Without a militant discourse, but with a constant attention to what is shown and what is not.
I wish to bring this same approach into my commissioned work with you.

A bit of history
Maternity photography has not always existed.
For a long time, everyday motherhood was absent from photographic representations.
I have explored photographic archives, and before the 1950s, images of pregnant bodies in Western societies are rare. In the 1960s, women slowly began reclaiming power over their bodies and over how they were represented.
In 1991, Annie Leibovitz photographed Demi Moore pregnant and nude.
It caused outrage, but it marked a turning point.
The image may feel dated today, but it tells the story of a visual revolution.
As a motherhood photographer, I see my work as part of this lineage.
I aim to create a more honest and less idealised representation of pregnancy and parenthood.
